“I joined the translation industry in 2002 when I worked as an intern in a financial translation house where the tight schedule and heavy workload shaped me into a detail-minded, flexible translator. Realising that I really enjoyed helping people in the process of communication, I decided to build my career around this passion and obtained professional qualifications like CATTI of the PRC and Diploma in Translation of the U.K.. Equipped with the hands-on experience in financial and legal translation, I moved on to other genres like PR, marketing, fashion, consumer products, etc. The experience of working as the Language Officer in the HKSAR Government was also a rewarding one. These experiences were proven to be extremely useful when I returned to my alma mater to found and manage the translation team. The opportunity to serve a wide spectrum of clients from the commercial to the academic world strengthened not only my understanding of the specific needs of clients from different sectors but also my sense of mission. On top of this, my love for language and the trust of my clients also drove me to found Wordidea.”
